||“The Plant Dr. Is In”: Consult with NC’s ‘plant doctor’ Olga Piedrahita about your sick plants. She will be on hand throughout the morning to offer knowledgeable advice to help heal your plants and help identify plant pests or diseases.
||Live Entertainment: Elle Wrabiutza (former Ecosystem Restoration graduate) sings & plays her guitar in guests spots throughout the day (30 minute sets)
||“Pump up your Soil with Compost Tea”: Interactive Workshop by Bill MacDonald (Horticulture Faculty): Bill will demonstrate how to make compost tea which will give your soil the nutrients they need to grow the perfect garden! (20-30 minutes)
||“Preparing your Perfect Decorative Planter”: Dena Gavin, Horticulture faculty, will host an interactive workshop showing various combinations of plants to fill every size planter to create perfect accents to driveways, yards, pools and decks.

||Children’s “Plant a Bean” Activity: Outside the Greenhouse Courtyard, children will be able to construct their own bean plant to take home!!
||“Preparing Edible Planters”: Dena Gavin will host an interactive workshop, educating visitors about edible plants and how to create a meal-specific planter (ie. spaghetti sauce planter would include a tomato plant, basil and garlic or onions). Recipes will be on hand.
||“Create your Man Yard”: Landscape faculty Mike Hoekstra shares his expertise on how to create the perfect ‘man yard’ complete with barbecue, fire pit or outdoor oasis. Perfect for singles who don’t know where to start with their landscaping, or those eager to create a functional oasis for their families, he will provide advice and design samples for easy maintenance, beautiful yards and gardens.
